CEMAS and Monitise strengthen research and development links

CEMAS are delighted to announce that Monitise, a leading Mobile Money Specialist, are collaborating with CEMAS to expand their research and development portfolio.

Monitise is a world leader in Mobile Money – banking, paying and buying with a mobile device. The Company provides services to more than 350 financial institutions and other leading brands globally, and have over 24 million users as well as strategic partnerships with Visa Inc, Visa Europe, RBS Group, Telefonica Digital and FIS to develop and deliver Mobile Money Services. Monitise have operations in the UK (including South Wales), The USA, India, Hong Kong and Indonesia.

Will Jones, President, EMEA, Monitise said that “a significant advantage of being based in South Wales is the close proximity to leading universities such as the University of South Wales’ Centre of Excellence in Mobile Applications and Services, which continues to push the boundaries of mobile development. We are looking forward to collaborating further with CEMAS to continue to attract highly talented individuals, and working closely with them on research and development projects.”

The collaboration will include joint projects between the parties including MSc and Graduate level projects involving mobile and server side applications. CEMAS will help Monitise in recruiting high quality candidates for their expansion in South Wales.
